Pasture Tours
Driving around the Ranch in a utility vehicle or pick-up truck rigged with game viewing seats offers an unparalleled way to observe the Ranch’s ruggedly beautiful landscape and abundant wildlife.
On such an outing one may see any of the Ranch’s game animals, as well as coyotes, feral hogs, foxes, skunks, raccoons, porcupines, and armadillos and a wide variety of birds.
Following periods of adequate rainfall the legendary stirrup high perennial prairie grasses flourish and remind a visitor of stories of this country at the turn of the last century.
In the spring wildflowers bloom in profusion, and fields of the famous Texas bluebonnet are memorable.
The best times of day for game viewing and for photography are early morning and early evening. As with bird watching, good quality binoculars of eight power or more are recommended, and a telephoto lens is highly desirable for photography.
Charge: $100 per hour for a driving tour for up to five people
